Ranji Trophy Final: Madhya Pradesh close to taking lead in 1st innings, 368 for 3, Rajat Patidar not out on 67

Ranji Trophy Final: The final match of Ranji Trophy 2021-22 is being played between Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh team at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Today is the fourth day of the match and Madhya Pradesh’s hold has become stronger in the match.

Mumbai won the toss and decided to bat first :-

In the Ranji Trophy final match, Mumbai won the toss and batted first and scored 374 runs in the first innings. In reply, Madhya Pradesh scored 368 runs for three wickets. Rajat Patidar is playing on 67 and captain Aditya Srivastava is scoring 11 runs.

Ranji Trophy Final: Madhya Pradesh in strong position :-

Madhya Pradesh wicket-keeper batsman Himanshu Mantri got out for 31 runs and Shubham Sharma scored 116 runs. Yash Dubey played an innings of 133 runs. Madhya Pradesh’s team is currently six runs behind Mumbai’s score, but it has seven wickets left and this team looks to be in a strong position. Tushar Deshpande, Sams Mulani and Mohit Awasthi took one wicket each for Mumbai.

Ranji Trophy Final: Mumbai’s big score due to Sarfaraz’s century :-

Electing to bat after winning the toss, Mumbai’s team got off to a great start. Prithvi Shaw and Yashasvi Jaiswal added 87 runs for the first wicket. Shaw was dismissed after scoring 47 runs.

From here Madhya Pradesh made a slight comeback in the match and picked up Mumbai wickets at regular intervals. Yashasvi Jaiswal (78 runs) and Sarfaraz Khan (134 runs) batted at one end and took their team to a score of 374 runs.

Gaurav Yadav took four wickets for Madhya Pradesh. Saransh Jain got two, Anubhav Agarwal got three and Kumar Karthikeya got one wicket.

Sarfaraz Khan ‘s special record, became the third batsman to do so in Ranji :-

In this match, Sarfaraz played an innings of 134 runs in 243 balls. He hit 13 fours and two sixes. Sarfaraz has scored more than 900 runs in eight innings of this season. He has scored four centuries and two half-centuries.

He scored 275 runs in 401 balls against Saurashtra. Sarfaraz is the highest run scorer in the current season. He has 937 runs to his name. Sarfaraz will have to score 63 runs in the second innings to touch the 1000-run mark.

Ajay Sharma made this record for the first time :-

anji Trophy: Sarfaraz is the third batsman in Ranji history to have scored more than 900 runs in two different seasons. This record was first made by Ajay Sharma of Delhi. He scored 993 runs in 1991-92 and 1033 runs in 1996-97.

After him comes Wasim Jaffer’s number. Jaffer scored 1260 runs for Mumbai in 2008-09 and 1037 runs for Vidarbha in 2018-19. Sarfaraz has scored 928 runs for Mumbai in 2019-20 and 937 runs in 2021-22.
