Ravindra Jadeja Gave A Scathing Reply On Rohit Sharma’s Captaincy in T20 WC 2022. The new captain doesn’t care about fielding. India’s fielding cost them big time in their loss to South Africa as a run-out chance by Rohit Sharma was missed.

The nature of the T20 format is such that it is a game of margins and fielding makes a big difference. This is clearly an area in which Team India is not the best among some of the other strong teams in the world and is far behind.

Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has claimed that Rohit has given importance to fielding and added that a change has been visible ever since Virat was the captain of the team.

Fielding was not given importance during the selection:-

Jadeja pointed to the presence of Ashwin and Shami in the team and explained how fielding was not given importance during the selection.

“I think Asian teams are not giving importance to fielding. The last time I heard about the importance of fielding was when Virat Kohli became the captain of Team India.

They had decided to include only those players who are good fielders. He is no more now the captain and coach have also changed. The new captain doesn’t care about fielding.

Jadeja said in a conversation with Cricbuzz:-

He is more concerned about batting and bowling. So, the current Team India that you don’t have much athleticism,” Jadeja said in an interaction with Cricbuzz.

“Which fielders do we have? We have Ashwin and Shami. In terms of bowling, both of them are great but you can’t expect them to field well.

When you pick a team, you know what you want and I think Team India, didn’t pay much attention to their fielding.”

Despite the loss to South Africa, Team India is in a position to qualify for the semi-finals with two wins and one loss in three matches so far. The Men in Blue will face Bangladesh at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday (November 2).
