Rohit looked a bit tired during IPL 2023 and the World Test Championship final in England. For a part of the West Indies tour, the selectors want him to rest.
Rohit Sharma may not play in the upcoming Tests or the eight-match white-ball series (three ODIs and five T20Is). According to TOI, the selectors will talk to Rohit before taking any decision.
The poor form of Rohit Sharma:-
In IPL-2023, Rohit scored only 332 runs in 16 matches at an average of 20.75, including two half-century innings.
He was also dismissed for 15 and 43 in the WTC final at The Oval vs Australia. Ajinkya Rahane made a miraculous comeback scoring 89 and 46 in the WTC final.
Rohit decides not to play in test matches:-
If Rohit decides not to play in the Test matches, Rahane could be named as the stand-in captain of the tour in his place.
Additionally, there is a good chance that neither Mohammed Shami nor Mohammed Siraj will play in the Test.
