Rohit Sharma made fun of Suryakumar in Maharashtra Assembly. After winning the T20 World Cup 2024 title, the Indian team returned to its home country on Thursday.
The Indian team, which reached Delhi from Barbados, met PM Narendra Modi at the Prime Minister’s residence. After this, the winning team took part in the Victory Parade in Mumbai. Lakhs of fans gave a historic welcome to Rohit Sharma and the teams at Marine Drive.

After this, Captain Rohit Sharma was honored at the Maharashtra Vidhan Bhavan. Apart from Rohit, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dubey and Yashasvi Jaiswal were also honored by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced a reward of Rs 11 crore to the Indian cricket team for winning the T20 World Cup.
At a program held at Maharashtra Vidhan Bhavan, Rohit Sharma said in Marathi, “Hello everyone. CM Sir, thank you very much for inviting us here. It was very nice to see everyone. CM Sir told that such a program has never happened here.
We felt good that such a program is happening for us. What we saw in Mumbai yesterday is like a dream for us. We waited for so many years to bring the World Cup. We last won the Champions Trophy in 2013.”
Rohit Sharma said, “This did not happen only because of Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dubey or me. The whole team contributed to the victory. I am very fortunate that I got such a team.
All of them were solid players.” Rohit jokingly said, “Suryakumar Yadav also told that the catch was in his hands. It was good that he got caught otherwise I would have made him sit.”

Suryakumar Yadav took a brilliant catch of David Milne in the final against South Africa. This catch taken on the first ball of the last over changed the course of the match and the Indian team won the match by 7 runs.
