IND vs NZ T20 Series 2023: Ruturaj Gaikwad Injury – Gaikwad has been ruled out of the T20I series against New Zealand due to a wrist injury.

Informed BCCI medical team about wrist Pain:-

He has reported to the National Cricket Academy on Tuesday. When he was to report to Ranchi on Wednesday, he informed the BCCI medical team about pain in his right wrist.

However, it is unlikely that the BCCI will name a replacement. India already has three openers on the team. Prithvi Shaw is at the forefront of the race to make a comeback.

Ruturaj is in NCA with a wrist injury:-

“Yes, Ruturaj is at NCA with a wrist injury. We don’t know yet whether it’s serious or not. But given the short polling time for the matches, it is unlikely that he will be able to complete it in time.

His scan is underway and we will know more once the reports come. We already have 4-5 openers available. But it is up to the selectors to name an alternative.

Apart from Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson are also out of the T20 series due to injury. Iyer is currently in NCA due to a back injury. Sanju Samson is in Kochi for physiotherapy for his knee injury.

Ranchi on Wednesday before the three-match series:-

The players of the T20 series will reach Ranchi on Wednesday before the three-match series against New Zealand.

Hardik Pandya’s young team will face the Kiwis in three T20 matches starting January 27 in Ranchi, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad. Prithvi Shaw, Rahul Tripathi, and others have been dropped from the Ranji Trophy team for this.
