Sachin Tendulkar visits Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) Academy The infighting continues in the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).

MCA Treasurer Jagdish Achrekar on Monday alleged that Secretary Sanjay Naik, without informing him or some members of the Apex Council, opened the renovated Sharad Pawar Indoor Academy of MCA at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).

It was inaugurated by the great batsman Sachin Tendulkar. Some former cricketers were also present on the occasion.

Achrekar Surrounds Secretary Sanjay Naik:-

Jagdish Achrekar said that I was not informed about it. I don’t want to raise an argument, but this cannot be considered an official inauguration of the Academy.

I came to BKC to watch the Harris Shield semifinals along with Apex Council members Abhay Hadap, Kaushik Godbole, and Ajinkya Naik. None of us knew about this. However, Sanjay Naik has denied the allegations.

The Inaugurated 12 Years Ago:-

Sanjay Naik said that there was no inauguration of the academy at that time. It was only an oversight, recommended by Tendulkar himself. The academy was inaugurating 12 years ago. So where does the question of opening come from?

I had informed Apex Council members Nadeem Memon (in charge of the improvement of the indoor academy) and Amit Dani.

MCA President Vijay Patil is aware of this. He is currently in Dharamsala. There are still 7-8 days left for the academy to start.

Tendulkar had Suggested to MCA:-

To this, a source close to Tendulkar said that Tendulkar had suggested to the MCA to revamp the indoor academy at BKC so that the cricketers could benefit from it.

When the work was doing, Sanjay Naik urged Tendulkar to come and visit the place and meet the person who did the work.

Since this was the first time anyone had seen it, they were urging to break a coconut on the occasion. No opening ceremony was organizing by MCA for the indoor academy.

Nadeem Menon Gave Prior Information:-

Apex Council member Nadeem Menon informed about prior information, Apex Council member Nadeem Menon said that MCA General Manager Kinjal Patel called me on Sunday evening.

He told me that Secretary Sanjay Naik has informed me to let you know that Tendulkar will be visiting the Academy.

Apex Council had scheduled me to oversee the improvement of MCA’s indoor academy, so I was informing about it. Jatin Paranjpe, chairman of MCA’s Cricket Reforms Committee, and Mumbai’s chief selector Salil Ankola were also present on the occasion.
