Salliann Beams appointed as new women’s coach ahead of WBBL and WNCL seasons, Coach Beams has been appointed High-Performance General Manager of Cricket Tasmania.
Beams trained for their first Piece:-
Former Yorkshire player Beams coached the Tasmanian Tigers women’s team for their first piece of silverware in March, and will replace Simon Insley in the role.

The move will see Cricket Tasmania looking for a new head coach for both the Tigers and Hurricanes women’s teams, which Beams has been leading since 2018.
Beams said the opportunity to work with both men and women was particularly appealing and hopes she can bring a new perspective.
After signing the contract extension:-
“After signing a [head coach] contract extension in May, it was clearly not something I had planned.
But the opportunity to work in the male system was still working. With the same players and staff in the women’s program. Fascinated me,” she said.
“I look forward to seeing a lot of success on the field in all five of our elite teams this season. As well as working to develop and implement strategies to further improve Tasmanian elite cricket as we go. for a longer period.”

Beams is currently in the UK as head coach of the Trent Rockets women’s team at The Hundred. A position she has held for the past two seasons.
Cricket Tasmania said it would announce a new WNCL and WBBL coach “in the coming weeks”.
