Bangladesh have been dealt a blow with the news that veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has injured his finger and will be out of action for six weeks.

Shakib injured his right finger while fielding during the second ODI against Ireland on Friday and was subsequently ruled out of the series finale at Chelmsford on Sunday.
Race against the clock to prove your fitness:-
The 36-year-old will face a race against the clock to prove his fitness in time for Bangladesh’s only Test against Afghanistan next month.
Team physio Bayzedul Islam Khan revealed an expected recovery time of six weeks from the injury.
“Yesterday in the second ODI, Shakib injured his right index finger while trying to take a catch,” Bayajedul said.
Confirmed fracture at the base of the index finger:-
“An X-ray today confirmed a fracture at the base of the index finger. Such injuries usually take about six weeks to heal.
Unfortunately, this means he is not available for the last match against Ireland.”
