Simon Doull received death threats for criticizing Virat Kohli, he said – “People ignore positive things!” Virat Kohli rocked IPL 2024, smashing the most runs and grabbing the Purple Cap.

But throughout the season, he also faced flak (criticism) for his strike rate. Big names like Sunil Gavaskar were on his case, and so was former NZ pacer and commentator Simon Doull.

Now, Doull just dropped a bombshell!

Doull revealed he received death threats after criticizing Kohli’s strike rate. He said despite showering Kohli with “a thousand good things,” these threats came for a few critical remarks.

So, What Exactly Did Doull Say?

Speaking to Cricbuzz, Doull said, “I see a great player, someone who should be dominating more. When I talk about him, I talk about his strike rate. I felt he was scared of getting out, worried about what’s coming next instead of saying, ‘I’m this good.'”

That’s Always Been My Point

He added, “He worries about getting out, and that’s always been my point. I’ve said a thousand good things about Virat Kohli, but say one negative thing or get misinterpreted, and I get death threats. It’s a shame.”
