He has won the match for South Africa A by playing a match-winning inning of 98 runs against Sri Lanka A. In this match, Dewald had been batting at number 7.

The first unofficial ODI between South Africa A and Sri Lanka A was played at Pallekele, in which South Africa won the match by 4 wickets with 53 balls to spare.

Dewald Brewis played an unbeaten match-winning inning of 98 off 71 balls. In this innings, 6 fours and 7 stormy sixes came out of his bat.

If only boundary runs are added, then this young explosive batsman scored 66 runs in just 13 balls.

If we talk about the match, Sri Lanka A team won the toss and scored 264/8 in 50 overs while batting first.

Janith Liange top-scored for Sri Lanka A with 76, while opener Nishan Madushka scored 68 and Ashen Bandara scored 41.

Chasing the target of 265 runs, South Africa A’s start was nothing special. Opener Jordan Harman returned to the pavilion at zero.

After this, Tony de Georgi Keegan Pietersen shared a 65-run partnership but after that South Africa lost wickets one after the other.

At one stage South Africa A were 155 for 6 after Dewald Brewis took charge.

He scored a blistering 98 off 71 balls, studded with 6 fours and 7 sixes, and was supported by Bears Swanepoel who scored 43.
