Sri Lanka Cricket on Sunday (August 29) announced that Dushmantha Chameera and Wanindu Hasaranga have been given no-objection certificates to participate in the UAE leg of IPL 2021.
Replacement Players–
Both were announced as replacement players after Royal Challengers. Finn could not avail of the services of Allen, Scott Kuggeleijn, Adam Zampa, Daniel Sams, and Kane Richardson.
Hasaranga and Chameera will represent the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the second leg of the IPL 2021 in UAE. Hasaranga has been roped in as a replacement for Adam Zampa. Chameera comes in for Daniel Sams.
The 24-year-old Hasaranga was impressive in the three-match T20I series against India. Hasaranga taking seven wickets at an economy rate of 5.58. The 29-year-old Chameera was the second-highest wicket-taker in the series with four wickets at an economy rate of 5.25.
Technical Advisory Committee-
The Technical Advisory Committee was allowed by the SLC in consultation. Both were issued ‘No Objection Certificates’ to join the IPL teams from 15 September.
The Shri Lankan team will play on 10 October 2021. The team will play two warm-up matches before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier.
RCB will start the second leg of their IPL campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders in Abu Dhabi on 20 September.
Sharjah will host its first game on September 24. Royal Challengers Bangalore take on Chennai Super Kings.
13 matches will be held in Dubai, 10 in Sharjah, and 8 in Abu Dhabi. (ANI)
