Mandhana’s jaw-dropping performance against the South Africans was simply too good to ignore. She beat out England’s Maia Bouchier and Sri Lanka’s Vishmi Gunaratne to claim this prestigious award.

There’s a reason Smriti Mandhana is considered one of the best top-order batters in the world. Remember her phenomenal 292-run opening partnership with Shafali Verma in the first Test against South Africa? She went on to score a brilliant 149 runs in that match itself!
Dominating June for Smriti
June was all about Smriti’s batting masterclass in the ODI series against South Africa. She smashed a brilliant 117 in the first match, followed by a stunning 136 in the second, and a solid 90 in the third. Talk about consistency!

This isn’t Smriti’s first brush with the ICC Player of the Month award. She was actually nominated for it back in September 2022, but the award eluded her that time.
