Smriti Mandhana reaches third place in ICC T20 rankings

Indian women’s team opener Smriti Mandhana has reached her career-best T20 ranking after her better performance in the Commonwealth Games. Mandhana has reached the third position in the ICC T20 International rankings released. This is the best rank of Mandhana’s career. Playing in the Commonwealth Games against Pakistan, Mandhana has scored a brilliant half-century. Overtaking New Zealand’s Sophie Devine, Mandhana has reached within two rating points equal to Australia’s Beth Mooney. Meg Lanning still remains at the top spot in the rankings and is now in 3rd place in Mandhana .

Mandhana has been at the top rank in ODI format

In 2019, Mandhana has topped the ICC rankings in the ODI format. In October last year, she had earlier been in the third position in T20.

Harmanpreet reached 4 ranks up

Indian women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur has also moved up 4 ranks. With this, she has reached 14th place. New Zealand’s Suzy Bates, who scored 91 runs in 64 balls against South Africa, has moved up two slots. Australia’s all-rounder Ashley Gardner has advanced in the ranking list of all three formats. It is worth mentioning that Gardner played a brilliant inning in the match against India. She has reached her career-best ranking of 3 in the position of all-rounders.

These changes have happened in the ranking of bowlers

Australia’s left-arm spinner Jess Johnson has improved her ranking by 2. England’s Sophie Eccleston tops the list. While bowling against India in the Commonwealth Games, Johnson took 4 wickets for 22 runs. Indian medium pacer Renuka Singh took four wickets for 18 runs against Australia while bowling the best of his career. Renuka is ranked 49th in the new ICC rankings.
