Delhi Capitals Head Coach: Sourav Ganguly will not be made the head coach of Delhi Capitals, the franchise is looking for a person like Gautam Gambhir. Delhi Capitals had removed the franchise’s head coach Ricky Ponting from the post a few days ago. Ponting was the head coach of Delhi Capitals for seven seasons.

Ganguly Had Expressed His Desire To Become The Head Coach

Now the franchise has started looking for a new head coach. Delhi’s Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly had expressed his desire to become the head coach, but the team is looking for a person like Gautam Gambhir for the head coach and not like Ganguly.

Gambhir, while talking to Bengali daily Aajkal, had said, “Why not me? Let’s see if I can do it or not. We need to include some new players.

I wanted to bring England’s new star Jamie Smith into Delhi’s SA20 team. He was ready to come, but England will be busy with the India tour at that time.”

Gambhir Is Needed For The Head Coach

Now, a report by News18 states that Delhi does not seem interested in making Ganguly the head coach. The report quoted a source as saying, “Ganguly already has a lot of things in store. He is already planning a lot for the franchise as the Director of Cricket.” A person like Gautam Gambhir is needed for the head coach.

The source further said, “The team needs a very practical coach who can follow the circuit very aggressively. Like Gautam Gambhir does.

It is no surprise that he has been so successful as a mentor. He keeps an eye on both international and domestic players.”

Delhi was in bad shape in IPL 2024

Let us tell you that in IPL 2024, Delhi Capitals could not qualify for the playoffs. The team was at sixth place in the points table.
