ICC Had Suspended The Sri Lanka Cricket Board:-

Earlier there was a lot of controversy regarding Sri Lankan player Angelo Mathews. After this, the ICC suspended the Sri Lanka Cricket Board. Then the hosting of the Under-19 World Cup was snatched from Sri Lanka and handed over to South Africa.

However, later the ICC lifted the suspension on Sri Lanka and allowed it to play ICC tournaments again. Now the Sports Minister of Sri Lanka has also been suspended.

Sri Lankan Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe has been suspended. The Sports Minister had accused Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe that he could take his life.

The Sports Minister had alleged that there is a lot of corruption in the cricket administration. I am trying to expose that corruption, but I may have to suffer the consequences.

His life is in danger due to exposing corruption. Roshan had said that if anything happens to me, then the President and his Chief of Staff should be held responsible for it.

Who Becomes The New Sports Minister?

A few hours after this statement by the Sports Minister, he was suspended from his post. After suspending Roshan Ranasinghe, Tourism and Land Minister Harin Fernando has also been given the responsibility of Sports and Youth Affairs.

In such a situation, Harin Fernando has now been made the Sports Minister of Sri Lanka. Now it remains to be seen what the future holds for sports and especially cricket in Sri Lanka.
