T20 WC 2022: WI Coach Phil Simmons Reveals The Reason For The Loss To Scotland, Simmons said after West Indies’ 42-run loss to Scotland in the opening match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on Monday, batsmen should come forward.

Pacers Alzarri Joseph and Jason Holder shined with the ball, picking up a wicket each, and proved economical too.
However, the batsmen were not up for the job as they lost their half for just 69 runs. Holder tried his best to revive his innings with his knock of 38 off 33 balls, but the Caribbeans were eventually bowled out for 118 with nine balls to spare.

West Indies coach Simmons said his bowlers worked hard but the batsmen let the team down at the post-match press conference.
“I think you can see it – disappointed. I think our batting, at least today, was definitely a little unprofessional,” Simmons said.
The 59-year-old further said that the West Indies batsmen were poor with their shot selection in the match and they didn’t play according to the situation at all.
