T20 World Cup Qualifier: Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza Scored 87 Runs in 40 Balls

T20 World Cup Qualifiers: Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza smashed a 40-ball 87 as hosts Zimbabwe thrashed Singapore by 111 runs on Monday in their bid to qualify for the 2022 Twenty20 World Cup in Australia.

The 236-5 in 20 overs with captain Craig Ervine (34):-

Electing to bat after losing the toss, Zimbabwe scored 236-5 runs in 20 overs with Raza, Sean Williams (53), and captain Craig Ervine (34).

Singapore never looked at par with the home team’s run rate and could manage just 125-7 runs with an unbeaten Janak Prakash (32) top-scoring and Surendran Chandramohan (21).

Tendai Chatra (3-14) and Blessing Mujarbani (2-21) were the most successful bowlers for Zimbabwe, who are looking to participate in the sixth T20 World Cup tournament.

Uganda surprised Hong Kong in the same group by registering a two-wicket win in a low-scoring encounter. On the third ball of the last over, the Africans scored 88-8 in reply to 87-9.

For the Netherlands, victories over Hong Kong. And Uganda against Papua New Guinea on Tuesday will make it to the semi-finals.

The Bulawayo finalists will join 14 other nations in the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia from 16 October.
