Tahlia McGrath’s Record Numbers Continue At Australia’s Commonwealth Games 2022, with Australia’s middle-order enjoying some valuable match practice at the Commonwealth Games.

Posting 182/4 in their 20 overs, thanks to blazing knocks from Meg Lanning and Tahlia McGrath.

The Aussies supported the effort through a strong collective bowling performance, restricting Ireland to 119/7 in reply.
The result took Australia into an outright lead with ten points from their three matches. Meg and McGrath dominated as all-rounders.
Another Player of the Match, Tahlia McGrath’s opening T20I numbers are hardly reliable.
Record for most T20I career runs:-
Not only has the all-rounder garnered Player of the Match honors in all his four appearances in the format. But the right-handed batsman also holds the record for most T20I career runs scored before being dismissed for the first time.
McGrath, in combination with Lanning (74 off 49), in a 135-run partnership. Scored 70 off just 45 balls in a combative performance.
Ireland was unable to come up with an answer to break the partnership. Although early success came through Georgina Dempsey and Rachel Delaney.
Dempsey claimed lbw for just one-off Alyssa Healy in her first over, and Delaney dismissed Beth Mooney for nine.
Schutt’s 100 brought in to join the elite company:-
Australian swing-bowler Megan Schutt joined a group of just six. Other bowlers to claim three figures of 2/16 with 100 women’s T20I wickets.
Schutt claimed the first of her two wickets in the first over. When Rebecca Stoeckel gave a shot to Rachael Haynes, just before Mary Waldron reached the milestone.

Schutt joined Ellyse Perry as the other Australian to take 100 T20I wickets.
Australia will have another hitout against Pakistan in Ireland on Saturday before traveling to Birmingham for the Commonwealth Games on Sunday.
