He made this announcement (Tamim Iqbal Retirement) during a press conference on Thursday.

Till now Tamim used to play in ODI cricket for Bangladesh. But now he will not be seen playing in any format for his team.
He is not fit for the opener:-
There were also reports that he was not fit for the opener but still, he decided to play.
Iqbal suddenly called a press conference at 12 noon (local time) on Thursday and announced his retirement.
Tamim has won matches for Bangladesh in all three formats of the game with the bat on several occasions. Now in such a situation, due to his absence, the Bangladesh cricket team will surely miss him.
Such is the career of Tamim Iqbal:-
Tamim made his ODI debut for Bangladesh in February 2007 and ended his limited-overs career with the highest ODI runs (8313) and centuries (14) for his team.
He is also the third-highest run-getter among active players in ODIs behind Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
Iqbal scored 5134 runs in 70 Tests at an average of 38.89 with 10 centuries.

Tamim retired from T20 last year. At the same time, Tamim Iqbal played his last Test against Ireland in April.
