Team India’s wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik has had a lot of ups and downs so far. After performing consistently as a finisher for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2022, Karthik has returned to India’s T20 squad since the series against South Africa in June. Since his return, Karthik has participated in 13 T20 matches.

Why is becoming a finisher the hardest part?

Dinesh Karthik said, ‘The role of a finisher is such, in which it is very difficult to stay consistent on the field. Every time you come in, you should be able to make an impact that will help the team. Obviously, do something special that day, that’s what I try to focus on.

Karthik said,

‘On the other hand, the other side helps you hit big sixes and play shots. It works both ways, bowlers are smart and they try to force you to hit as high in the air as possible. Sometimes, when you are trying to make a shot, you might get out.

Dinesh Karthik revealed the secret

Karthik further said, ‘I think it is very interesting because in the World Cup also there are three grounds that directly come to my mind, which include Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne. We have played in all the grounds, but now the challenges are different. So, the fact remains that every time you get a chance, there is a definite challenge. That in itself is pressure. I think this is something that we have done very well so far.
