The BCCI Looking For Coach For Indian Women’s Team

The BCCI looking for coach for Indian women’s team. Former Mumbai coach Amol Muzumdar is the frontrunner to become the next Indian women’s coach.

Majumdar applied for that role:-

According to a report in the Indian Express Muzumdar had applied for the role which Ramesh Powar was asked to transfer to the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore in December 2022.

The BCCI had invited applications from potential candidates and set certain criteria for their next coach. There was no age limit.

Must have played minimum 50 first-class matches:-

It is mandatory for the candidate to have represented India or any other country at the international level or the coach must have minimum NCA level ‘C’ certification or similar certification from a reputed organization/institution and must have played minimum 50 first-class matches.

Candidate should have experience of coaching an international team for a period of at least 1 season or a T20 franchise for at least 2 seasons.

In-depth understanding of the sport or playing/coaching experience at the highest level and experience of leading a multi-cultural team desired.

Muzumdar was earlier a part of the IPL team Rajasthan Royals:-

A former Mumbai captain, Majumdar was earlier a part of the IPL team Rajasthan Royals and has also coached at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

He was appointed as the coach of Mumbai two seasons ago when Mumbai won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy under his leadership. However, he did not apply for the senior Mumbai team this year.

Majumdar has also served as the batting coach with the South African team that toured India in 2019. Majumdar has scored 11,167 first-class runs at an average of 48.13.
