Team India New Coach: The BCCI Wants To Bring A New Coach For Team India, discussions are taking place with Rahul Dravid. Dravid’s initial two-year contract as India’s head coach ended after the recent World Cup final.
Engaged in Extensive Discussion About The Potential Continuation:-
Keeping in mind the upcoming T20 World Cup next year, top officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Rahul Dravid are engaged in extensive discussions about Rahul’s potential continuation as the head coach.

India suffered a disappointing defeat by six wickets against Australia in the World Cup final.
A BCCI official told PTI on condition of anonymity, “Rahul and BCCI discussed the current situation. We will respect his decision.
It Will Take Time To Set Up A Process:-
Well, everyone feels that the T20 World Cup is going to be held in seven to eight months, so it will take time for a new coach to come and form a team and decide on a process. He (Dravid) is fully aware of this. ,
The official said that the decision will be taken only after fully considering all the aspects.
He said, “We are also discussing whether the combination of the current coach and captain will be needed in the T20 World Cup or not. We are hoping to reach a decision soon so that things become clear.
It is also noteworthy that the board is quite happy with the way Dravid has worked with captain Rohit in the last two years even though they have not been able to win any global trophy.
World Test Championship 2023 Final in England:-
He took India to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, the final of the World Test Championship 2023 in England, and the final of the 50-over World Cup on home soil.
India won the Asia Cup by defeating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in Colombo in September.
The official indicated that all the stakeholders will soon reach a decision which includes Rohit, chief selector Ajit Agarkar, and some other top BCCI officials.
Laxman is being considered as Dravid’s successor as India’s head coach. The officer said he has kept his options open.
He said, “Options are open for the head coach. (Laxman) is familiar with the team, players, and training methods. He also has experience working with the national team.

Laxman is currently working as the head coach for the ongoing five-match T20 International series against Australia and whenever Dravid has been rested during his tenure, he has performed the responsibility well.
