The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has now been forced to knock on the doors of former captain MS Dhoni.

After the T20 World Cup debacle in Australia, the BCCI is set to send an SOS to MS Dhoni for a bigger role in the Indian T20 cricket set-up.

According to BCCI sources, the board is considering calling Dhoni for a permanent role in Indian cricket.

The burden of managing all three formats is heavy for Dravid:-

According to a report in The Telegraph, the BCCI feels that the management load of all three formats is too high for head coach Rahul Dravid, due to which the BCCI is looking at splitting the coaching roles.

The board is making efforts to include Dhoni in the T20 format and elevate the status of the Indian cricket team.

According to the report, the issue will be discussed during the Apex Council meeting later this month.

Earlier, Dhoni worked with the team during last year’s T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE but he was with them on an interim basis.

The big role will definitely help set up the Indian T20:-

The team was already out of the tournament with almost a week’s participation. However, the BCCI feels that a more substantial role will certainly help establish the Indian T20.

The report claimed that Dhoni is expecting to retire from the game after next year’s IPL. The BCCI is keen to harness his experience and technical skills in the right way and will include the former Indian captain.
