Also, in this meeting, different coaches and captains will be discussed for many formats, while the meeting will be virtual. However, there is no mention of the T20 World Cup or the review of the Bangladesh series on the agenda as of now.
The BCCI is not happy with the recent performance of India’s support staff. Along with the CAC, a new captain, individual coaches for T20 and ODI squads and a new selection committee could be formed by the apex council.

Actually, Rohit Sharma is turning 36 in April, he has no age. BCCI sees Hardik Pandya as the T20 captain of the future. Another important discussion will be about separate coaching.
Rahul Dravid recently hinted that he has a lot going on because of his busy schedule. With India’s poor results in T20Is, the BCCI is considering a split coaching role.
Dravid will continue as the ODI and Test coach while a new player may come in for the T20 team.

- BCCI Central Contracts: New contracts discussed, Suryakumar Yadav’s promotion fixed.
- The council will also approve the appointment of a new selection committee.
- BCCI will discuss the status of its two major jersey sponsors BYJUs and MPL.
- The appointment of consultancy firm Grant Thornton is also on the agenda list.
- An infrastructure sub-committee will also be constituted and the upgradation of five venues will also be discussed.
- The venues for the series against Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Australia will be discussed in the meeting.
- The BCCI will also take a call on the Pink Ball Test between India and Australia in Ahmedabad.
- The new Cricket Advisory Committee, headed by former Test cricketer Ashok Malhotra, will also be present during the meeting.
- Although not on the official agenda, India’s T20 future could be decided.
- The BCCI is not happy with India’s support staff, especially fielding coach T Dileep and the physio team.
- While Nitin Patel is heading the NCA Sports Science Centre, the BCCI may make changes in the support staff.
- India has seen a series of injuries of late and some have been repeated like Deepak Chahar.
- Chiefs president Roger Binnie has promised to focus on injury management.
However, the BCCI is in a dilemma at the moment. Virat Kohli has dropped from ODI and Test captaincy as he did not want split captaincy.

But the aging Rohit Sharma and the need to plan for the 2024 T20 WC has forced the board to reconsider the decision.
At the same time, Rohit Sharma will remain the ODI captain till 2023 World Cup. ODI and Test captaincy will be discussed only after the 2023 WC.
However, one can also say that the BCCI is ready to take a bold step and appoint a new captain for T20s. With not much T20 scheduled in 2023, Hardik Pandya will take charge of the T20 team.
A senior BCCI official told Sports, “We cannot afford to lose again and again. We will not take chances now.
We are already in discussion with Rohit Sharma and he is comfortable about appointing a new captain for the T20 format.
