Cricket West Indies removed Courtney Walls as head coach. The West Indies head coach has been quick to work on making amends for their below-par performances in this year’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

Caribbean legend and ICC Hall of Fame member Courtney Walsh announced his contract will not be renewed.

Walsh took over the helm in October of 2020 and led the West Indies to the semi-finals of the 2022 ICC Women’s World Cup in New Zealand, where they lost to eventual winners Australia.

Cricket West Indies has removed West Indies women’s team head coach Courtney Walsh as head coach following a review of the team’s performance in recent times.
CWI Director of Cricket Jimmy Adams said in a statement: “We are extremely grateful for the contribution Courtney and his technical team have made over the last two and a half years and we wish them all the best.
West Indies won seven out of 24 T20s and 11 out of 32 ODIs:-
The West Indies team could not reach the knockout round in the T20 World held in Africa. Under Walsh’s leadership, the West Indies have won seven out of 24 T20Is and 11 out of 32 ODIs.
The team’s most notable performances in this period were home-and-away series wins against Pakistan in 2021 and reaching the semi-finals in the 50-over World Cup in 2022.
In the recent T20 World Cup in South Africa, West Indies failed to qualify for the knockouts after winning just two matches in the group stage against Pakistan and Ireland.

One of the major developments during Walsh’s tenure was the sudden retirement of Deandra Dottin from international cricket.
