So, What Happened To Nafees Iqbal?

On July 5th, 2024, in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Nafees suddenly experienced a brain hemorrhage. Blood clots formed in parts of his brain, leading to his immediate hospitalization.

What Do The Doctors Say?

Doctors from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) diagnosed Nafees with cerebral venous thrombosis. This is a condition where blood clots form in the brain’s veins. Thankfully, doctors say Nafees is out of danger and his condition is stable. He’s currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Nafis Iqbal’s Cricketing Journey

Before becoming a team manager, Nafees Iqbal was a respected player himself. He represented Bangladesh in 16 ODIs and 11 Test matches. He even smashed a memorable century and four impressive half-centuries throughout his career. Nafees played his last international match in 2006.

His Contribution to the T20 World Cup

For the past two years, Nafees has been the go-to manager for the Bangladesh Cricket Team. He even accompanied the team to the USA and West Indies for the recently concluded T20 World Cup.
