The French batsman Gustav Mckeon broke T20 world record with a brilliant century, and the third T20 World Cup 2024 Europe Sub-Regional Qualifier tournament broke a world record in Finland.

Mckeon broke Hazratullah Zazai’s record by more than two years, the Afghanistan opener scoring 162* off 62 balls against Ireland in 2019, taking 20 years and 337 days.
Gustav’s innings scored a scintillating 54-ball 76 against the Czech Republic, and leads the tournament for teenage runs, with his strike rate of 185 coming in at a strike rate of 161 and an average of 92.50.
Mckeon France couldn’t finish the job:-
Despite the century, McCon’s France could not finish the job, losing a last-ball thriller to their neighbors, who chased down a target of 158.
Swiss captain Faheem Nazir led the top-order with a 46-ball 67, with Ali Nayyar’s late-over heroism ensuring a last-chance win.
Nayyar scored 12 runs in the last three balls, including a boundary off the final ball, which broke the French heart, meaning the pair are tied on two points in group stage action.
Norway led Group 2 due to two impressive victories over the Czech Republic and Estonia, with the pair yet to be out of the mark.
Luxembourg did not win in two matches:-
In Group 1, Austria and Guernsey remained undefeated, with Luxembourg not winning two matches. Bulgaria and Slovenia are also yet to taste victory, but they will take on each other in Wednesday’s action.
Guernsey are the favorites to top their group, although the Channel Islanders were pushed to a 17-run victory by Luxembourg.
Luxembourg’s Shiv Gill claimed the player of the match honors with 47 off 38 balls, but seamer William Peetfield turned the match around with three wickets.
The winners of the third sub-regional tournament will join Denmark, Italy, Jersey, and Germany in next year’s Europe qualifiers, as well as the European sides that fail to qualify for 2024 through 2022 tournament: Ireland, the Netherlands, and Scotland.
