The Injury forces Ireland women to make changes to their T20 World Cup 2023 squad. Ireland has been forced to make changes to their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 squad after middle-order batsman Rebecca Stoeckel was ruled out of the tournament.

Took a toe ligament injury a week before the tournament:-

Stokell, who played a key role in Ireland’s progress to the tournament with a crucial cameo in the semi-final of the qualifying tournament against Zimbabwe in Abu Dhabi, suffered a foot ligament injury the week before the tournament.

Following a medical assessment, Stokell was withdrawn from the squad, with Rachel Delaney named as her replacement.

National selector Carrie Archer said, “We are all devastated for Rebecca and wish her a speedy recovery.”

“Rachel Delaney has been called up – an experienced all-rounder who has recently been part of the senior teams. We wish Rachel all the best as she sets out to join the Irish camp.”

ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023:-

Ireland women will take on England in their first ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 group match on 13 February. India, Pakistan, and West Indies are the other teams in their group.
