But due to political issues between the two countries, it is unlikely that the BCCI and PCB will agree to the proposed bilateral Test series.

Speaking on SEN Radio on the fourth day of the second Test between Australia and South Africa, MCC CEO Stuart Fox revealed that the club and the Victorian government had jointly approached CA to host the Test.

Not faced in a bilateral international cricket match:-

Since 2013, India and Pakistan have not faced each other in a bilateral international cricket match outside the World Cup and Asia Cup. Since 2007, the two teams have not faced each other in any Test.

However, Fox said the MCC would be thrilled to host the two nations for a Test match after 90,293 spectators turned up at the MCG to watch the thrilling last-ball match of the T20 World Cup in October.

Fox continued. “We have spoken to Cricket Australia about this. I also know the Government of Victoria. Between a really busy schedule, from what I can understand, it’s again very complicated. So I think that’s probably the biggest challenge.”

Asked Fox, wouldn’t it be nice if stadiums in all countries were full, not just Australia and Victoria? In response to this, he says, hope that Cricket Australia takes it to the ICC.

When you see some stadiums around the world empty, I think it would be better when all the stadiums are full and the fun of the game doubles.

Approval of BCCI and PCB is not Possible:-

Looking at the future tour schedule, there is no bilateral cricket match between India and Pakistan between 2023 and 2027.

The two teams are sparring over visiting each other’s countries for the 2023 Asia Cup and ODI World Cup. Given the political climate of both countries.
