The ICC (International Cricket Council) has announced the schedule. Many matches including India vs Afghanistan will be played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

All the stadiums are getting ready for the World Cup. Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium will also be renovated and decorated. 20 to 25 crores will be spent on this.

A total of 5 matches will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the Cricket World Cup 2023. India’s match is in Delhi on 11 October.

The Narendra Modi Stadium was criticized for the second Test between India and Australia earlier this year. It was said that there were not enough facilities for the spectators.

Repairs in total 5 stadiums including Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium:-

It was reported in April that a total of 5 stadiums, including Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, needed repair and decoration.

This included stadiums in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mohali. However, after the announcement of the ICC schedule, it has become clear that no World Cup match will be played in Mohali.

World Cup 2023: 20 to 25 crores will be spent in Delhi before the Cricket World Cup. Due to the immense popularity of cricket in India, BCCI is earning crores from broadcasting rights.

But the condition of most of the stadiums is so bad that even basic facilities are not there. Rajat Manchanda, joint secretary of the Delhi and District Cricket Association, said the focus would be on making the spectator experience memorable during the World Cup.

He said, “We thank the BCCI for giving us the opportunity to host five matches. We have to improve the infrastructure of the stadium so that the experience of the spectators is memorable.

This includes changing the seats of the spectators, making new washrooms, painting, and changing the ticket software. ”Arun Jaitley Stadium has an audience capacity of about 35,000 and Manchanda said that DDCA will change about 10,000 seats.

All this work has to be completed by September 15:-

“We will provide clean washrooms, good food, and water at affordable rates to the spectators,” he said. Housekeeping staff will also be increased. All this work has to be completed by September 15.

He told that the team of ICC and BCCI will inspect the stadium in the third week of July. South Africa and the qualifiers are to be played in Delhi on October 7.

There will be a match between India and Afghanistan here on 11 October. The remaining matches are to be held on October 14, October 25, and November 6.
