BCCI wants to complete its preparations:-

A senior BCCI official told Ek Sport that “We are meeting ICC officials tomorrow to discuss the fine print of the schedule.
Once it’s done, we’ll lay it out for you. By Monday, we should have the final schedule”.
PCB chief Najam Sethi informed ICC chief Greg Barclay and CEO Geoff Allardice that Pakistan would not play in Ahmedabad, confirming that the team would tour India.
The senior BCCI official further said that “Sethi has told Barclay and Allardyce that Pakistan does not want their matches in Ahmedabad unless it is a knock-out game like the final.
He requested the ICC to hold its games in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata if the national team gets the nod from the Pakistan government.
What is taking so much time in the World Cup schedule:-
- Rift in BCCI vs PCB is also the reason.
- After India refused to travel to Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023 and ICC Champions Trophy 2023, ICC is trying to mediate between the two.
- However, there is no indication that Pakistan will boycott the World Cup, which is hosted by India.
- But PCB has its own conditions and one of them is that the team will not play in Ahmedabad due to political reasons.
- Ahmedabad was to host the India vs Pakistan match at the world’s largest cricket stadium.
