The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has named a 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023 in Zimbabwe. The tournament starts on June 18.

UAE participated in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier play-off in Namibia earlier this year and finished second in the event.
A successful tournament could pave the way for the UAE to play in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.
The team has announced a 15-member squad for the qualifiers. Mohammad Wasim leads the side, which also includes veterans like Asif Khan, Zahoor Khan, and Rohan Mustafa.
Asif scored a century in 41 balls against Nepal
Khan hit the headlines in March when he scored a 41-ball century against Nepal, which was the fourth-fastest century in ODI cricket.
He was also the leading run-scorer in the Qualifier Play-offs, with 296 runs at a batting average of 59.2.
Medium pacer Zahoor was the UAE’s most successful bowler during the above event in Namibia, taking 10 wickets at an average of 23.3.
UAE has been placed in Group B of the qualifiers, where they will face Ireland, Oman, Sri Lanka, and Scotland.
