At this time every cricket fan in the world is waiting for IPL Mega Auction 2022. The market of star players from all over the world is to be decorated on February 12 and 13, for which BCCI has finalized the list of 590 players. Meanwhile, a veteran has left the Pakistan Super League in the middle for the IPL mega auction.
PSL left for IPL
One of Zimbabwe’s most successful cricketers, Andy Flower, has left Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 7 midway for the mega auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The former Zimbabwe captain will take part in the IPL mega auction to be held in Bengaluru from February 12-13 as the head coach of the new franchise Lucknow Super Giants.
A report in Cricket Pakistan quoting Multan Sultans media officials said that Flower will continue to guide the PSL side and will return to Pakistan on February 13.
PSL left for 10 days
The report quoted the Sultans as saying, ‘The Sultan will remain without flowers for at least 10 days. He will lead the Lucknow Super Giants in the mega auction to be held in Bangalore on February 12 and 13. The visit to India will be so quick that a strategy should be made before the auction in Andy flower left the PSL.
The Sultans will take on Peshawar Zalmi on 5th and 10th February and then will play Lahore Qalandars on 11th February. The Zimbabwean legend will be back with the team ahead of the match against Karachi Kings on 16 February.
Team tops the charts
In Flower’s absence, former Pakistan cricketer Mushtaq Ahmed and team support staff will guide the team. The Sultans have so far won all the four matches in the PSL-7 and are leading the charts. Reportedly, Flower is one of the candidates for the position of head coach of England after the departure of Chris Silverwood.
The Lucknow Super Giants had appointed Flower as their head coach last December. That was the first appointment after the new IPL franchise came into existence so Andy flower left the PSL.
Sanjeev Goenka, the owner of the Lucknow IPL team, had said at the time of Flower’s appointment that he was picked because of the more cricketing experience he had.
