Asia Cup 2023: Tilak Verma became emotional after being selected for the Asia Cup. Team India’s squad has been announced for the Asia Cup to be played in Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

On the other hand, Tilak is very happy to be a part of the team for this big tournament. BCCI has shared a video of him in which he is seen as emotional.

‘Soon you will see Tilak Verma playing for India’ were the words spoken by Team India skipper Rohit Sharma when Verma thrashed RCB bowlers in the IPL 2023 season.

The young star has already played seven T20Is till August and has now, earned a maiden call-up in ODIs for the Asia Cup 2023 event.

The 20-year-old is currently playing a T20I series in Ireland but he couldn’t control his emotions after being selected for the Continental Cup.

It’s like a dream come true for me – Tilak Verma:-

Tilak Verma said that “I never thought that I would debut in the ODI format directly in the Asia Cup. I always believed that I can make my ODI debut soon, but this is a big deal for me.

I always dream of making my ODI debut for India. In the same year, I got a chance to make my T20 debut and suddenly next month I am getting a call for the Asia Cup. I am just preparing for it.”

Rohit Sharma helped Tilak:-

Tilak Verma further thanked the team captain Rohit Sharma. He told how he has benefited from Hitman’s advice and help.

Tilak says that “Rohit Bhai has always supported me. During the IPL, I was quite nervous, but Rohit Sharma always used to say, express yourself, and don’t be afraid to ask any question.

The only thing he told me was to enjoy my game. I am happy that I am in the Asia Cup squad and I want to do well there. I want to enjoy what I am doing.
