A recent study by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the World Health Organization (WHO) found something alarming.

The study showed that a whopping 41.3% of tobacco ads displayed during matches were for smokeless tobacco products! This was during the 2023 Cricket World Cup.

Worried about this influence on young people, the Ministry of Health is taking a big step. They’re considering asking the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to ban all tobacco and chewing tobacco ads in stadiums.
