U19 World Cup 2024: This Afghan Made Place in NZ Team Between IND And AFG Series. It was a dream come true for Hikmat when he was included in the New Zealand Under-19 team for the Under-19 World Cup.

Rahman Hikmat was a child when his parents moved to New Zealand from Afghanistan in search of a better life. Growing up in Auckland, Rehman Hikmat’s parents were cricket fans and Bollywood movie buffs.

For this reason, Rahman, the eldest among three siblings, automatically fell in love with cricket. Rehman Hikmat is the first cricketer of Afghan origin, who has got a place in the New Zealand team.

Rahman revealed that Shane Warne and Afghanistan legend Rashid Khan are his cricket idols. The leg spinner said that he also follows other spinners like Adam Zampa, Ish Sodhi, and Adil Rashid.

I Also Like To Bowl A Lot Of Googlies Like Rashid:-

He said, “My idols are Shane Warne and Rashid Khan. Warne is the greatest of all time. Rashid Khan is an Afghani. The thing is that I also like to bowl a lot of googlies like Rashid.

Over the years, as my cricket knowledge improved, I started following other wrist-spinners. And I look up to Ish Sodhi, Adam Zampa, and Adil Rashid.

I look at all the leg spinners, they are all different. I try to pay attention to his tactics, his pace, field placements, and variations. “Each of them is an artist in their way.”

The Fan Of Rahman’s Father Shahrukh Khan:-

Rehman also talked about his family and said that his father is a big fan of Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan.

Rahman told The Indian Express, “My father loves Bollywood films. When he shows a movie, I try to watch it.

If I didn’t get the story I would get bored, so he would try to explain it to me.

I have difficulty in understanding Hindi. I always ask him to put captions, but he says the meaning gets lost in translation.”

He said, “Recently, my parents went to watch Shahrukh Khan’s film Dunky. My father loved this film and told me about it on the phone for two hours.
