WPL 2023: Veda Krishnamurthy’s statement on the captains of WPL 2023. Veda said- “Surprised to have Alyssa Haley and Beth Mooney becoming captains”.
Indian former women’s player Veda Krishnamurthy:-
Before the start of the Women’s Premier League 2023, former Indian women’s player Veda Krishnamurthy has given a statement regarding Australian players Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney.

Veda Krishnamurthy has said that she is surprised at the appointment of Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney as captains in the WPL.
Along with this, he has also mentioned Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur in his statement.
Veda Krishnamurthy on Aakash Chopra in Akashvani Show:-
In Geo Cinema’s Akashvani show, Veda Krishnamurthy mentioned this while talking to Akash Chopra.
During the show, Veda was asked by Aakash Chopra if she was surprised about the selection of a foreign captain for WPL 2023, to which she replied.
During this, Veda said, “Meg Lanning’s is not surprising. We obviously hoped that the team could be built around him.
But I am in awe of both Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney. I thought Deepti Sharma would be appointing as the captain of UP Warriors but it did not happen.”
Beth Mooney in place of Ashley Gardner:-
On the other hand, Veda further says that Gujarat Giants was expecting to have a foreign captain. But it was also surprising to me that Gujarat made Beth Mooney their captain in place of Ashley Gardner.
She explains, “When the auction got over, we knew for a fact that Gujarat Giants would focus more on foreign players. They will have an overseas captain but it was a bitting surprising that Gardner was replacing by Beth Mooney.”

At the same time, Veda also said that she thought that Harmanpreet Kaur would be included in RCB while Mumbai would include Smriti Mandhana in their team, but the opposite happened. Which was surprising to him.
