We don’t even have soil for wickets, Salman Butt targets PCB chief

Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt has fiercely targeted the President of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Rameez Raja. He has said that Pakistan does not even have soil to put in the wicket. You are bringing coaches from outside. You are bringing the pitch from outside. Why doesn’t the PCB chairman also bring it from outside. The junior cricket league is starting in Pakistan and the Pakistan Cricket Board last week confirmed the appointment of South Africa’s Imran Tahir and New Zealand’s Colin Munro as mentors in soil for wickets.

Former West Indies captain Darren Sammy and former Pakistan captains Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Malik have already been appointed as mentors in the league. At the same time, no responsibility has been given to Salman Butt. For this reason, he has taken a dig at PCB.

Salman’s attack on Rameez Raja

On his official YouTube channel, Salman Butt took a dig, saying that Pakistan has no mentor of its own, just as the country has “no soil” to prepare wickets. The comment was in reference to the use of drop-in pitches by Pakistan for the Test series against Australia.

He further said,

“There is no player who can mentor youngsters in Pakistan. There is no one there. We don’t even have soil to take wickets in Pakistan and you are talking about mentors. You have to come from different countries. Drop-in pitches, soil from different countries, coaches, and mentors from different countries. Bring a chairman from another country too, no? There’s nothing to talk about.”

Tahir said,

“Coming back to Lahore for the Pakistan Junior League as a team mentor is one of my most satisfying achievements, as I still have a great bond with this country. Tahir said, “It is an exciting opportunity to work with budding spin bowlers and help them grow and flourish so that they can become like the great spinners of this country.”

“I am fully in support of Pakistan Junior League as it creates a difficult and challenging environment for higher players. Only those players will move forward, who will cross this scale. With the increasing number of international cricket matches this Pakistan, It will help to increase the pool of its players, who will be able to play for the country.”
