The Wellington Firebirds have become just the second team to win New Zealand’s men’s Domestic T20 title back-to-back after both Dream11 Super Smash Grand Finale 2021

Wellington Firebirds claimed back-to-back Twenty20 Super Smash titles with a five-wicket win over the Canterbury Kings.

Conway had support from Troy Johnson, who scored 28 off 15 balls, allrounder Jimmy Neesham scored 18 off 12 and Jamie Gibson scored 16 not out off 10 balls, after Canterbury had removed the dangerous Finn Allen early for 16, and Tom Blundell for a second-ball duck.

But with his fourth consecutive half century – 50, 61*, 91* and now 93*, Conway could be relied upon to loft the ball over cover when it counted. He would bat masterfully throughout the innings, calmy navigating a frantic last couple of overs from the Kings the saw fielders colliding, and runs scrambled, to steer his side to the championship – unbeaten off 63 balls as he hit the winning runs.

Allen and Conway finish as the top two men’s batsmen in the league this season, Finn Allen scored a total of 512 runs from 11 innings and Conway scored a total of 455 runs from 10 innings
