West Indies batsman John Campbell may appeal against the doping ban, with John saying Jamaica’s anti-doping authority had not “properly informed” him about the collection of blood samples

Campbell cleared for anti-doping violation:-

And he was considering an appeal against a four-year doping ban. A three-member independent panel cleared Campbell of an anti-doping violation.

When the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) charged him with failing to collect, refuse, or produce a sample at his home in Kingston in April.

In a statement his lawyers said:-

“Mr. John Campbell and his legal team are deeply disappointed by the decision of the independent Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel.” His lawyers said in a statement posted on the West Indies Players Association (WIPA) website.

“Mr. Campbell has been a clean athlete during his outstanding career as a batsman and remains committed to clean play … Our client has, to date, never returned an adverse analytical search for banned substances.”

Campbell played 20 Test matches for West Indies:-

Opener Campbell played 20 Test matches, six One Day Internationals, and two Twenty20 Internationals for the West Indies.

His lawyers stated that they believe that there were several violations by JADCO regarding notification of the athlete regarding sample collection.

“We have read the written decision of the disciplinary panel. And believe there are valid grounds for appeal,” the statement said. “Mr. Campbell’s position was that he was not properly notified by JADCO.
