West Indies cricketer Andre Fletcher suffered a neck injury from a short delivery while batting during the Bangladesh Premier League 2022, where he is representing Khulna Tigers. Fletcher has suffered a severe injury that was visible and he was taken off the field Fletcher was taken to hospital due to this injury.

The incident happened during the seventh over bowled by Rezaur Rahman Raja of the Tigers’ innings, when the first ball picked up awkwardly, at which Fletcher attempted a pull shot, but disappeared and suffered a blow to his neck. He immediately went down in pain as the respective Chattogram Challengers players surrounded him, and Andre Fletcher has kicked off the field in pain, with Khulna Tigers losing the match, and now going ahead Andre Fletcher will not be available even in the matches, this is definitely not good news for Khulna Tigers because Andre Fletcher is one of the main players of this team who was proving to be match-winners for this team. And now Fletcher has been taken to hospital.

According to Bangladesh Cricket Board

The Bangladesh Cricket Board physician as saying that Fletcher “appeared to be okay” while he was under observation on the ground.

Khulna manager Nafees Iqbal later revealed that the Fletcher, who was batting on 16 off 12, is doing fine and was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

“Fletcher is doing well. He is also in his senses, and not feeling any problems. But since he was hit on the neck, we are being cautious and not taking any risks. If the doctor advises for a scan then it will be done. At the moment it’s fine,” Dhaka Tribune quoted Iqbal as saying. And now Fletcher has been taken to hospital

Sikandar Raza replaced Fletcher as a concussion substitute.

Tigers were chasing 191 against Challengers at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. They finished on 165/9 with Challengers winning by 25 runs.
