The Bangladesh Cricket Board said on Thursday that Saifuddin was dropped after failing to regain his fitness for the series.

“We feel that he has not yet reached the bowling fitness level required to cope with the intensity of international cricket,” BCB’s chief physician Debashish Choudhary said in a statement.

The 25-year-old last played an international in October 2021.

Also ruled out one-day matches:-

The BCB said on Wednesday that Yasir Ali was also ruled out of the tour’s T20 and ODI matches after failing to recover from a back injury during the three-day warm-up match in Antigua.

“Yasir Ali is not recovering as expected… and could not start his rehab,” Bangladesh team physio Bayedul Islam said. “He is restricted in his physical work even after about two weeks of rest.”

His Recovery continues under the supervision of BCB:-

Yasir is returning to Bangladesh and will continue his recovery under BCB supervision. Bangladesh will play three Twenty20 Internationals and three One Day Internationals during the tour.

The Tourists are trailing the West Indies 0-1 in the two-Test series after a seven-wicket loss in the first match hosted by Antigua.
