The report said, “Right now, the selectors are only interested in picking the Asia Cup squad. The World Cup squad will mostly be selected later.”

Doesn’t bode well for Samson’s chances of getting selected:-

Apart from this, the return of KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan being in good form also does not bode well for Samson’s chances of selection.

Earlier, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra wanted the same to happen to Sanju Samson. According to him “he should bat higher up the order”.

He said on his YouTube channel, “If you want to get the best out of Sanju Samson, you have to bat at the top of the order, irrespective of the format.

The same thing should happen with Rohit Sharma:-

You will be able to do justice to his talent only if you make him bat higher up the order. Maybe the same is the case with Rohit Sharma.”

Sanju Samson was part of the white-ball squad in the West Indies. He got chances but could not capitalize on them as mis-shots cost him most of the games.
