Pakistan Cricket Board: Will Babar Azam become the captain of Pakistan again? The star batsman made this demand. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has offered Babar Azam the captaincy in the white ball format but the star player has not taken any decision yet. Sources claimed that the PCB Chairman has made this offer to Babar.

It has also been learned that Babar has set some conditions for accepting the captaincy, which includes taking his opinion in the appointment of coaches. Babar has also said that he should be given the command of the team in all three formats.

The opinion of the National Selection Committee is divided on this issue. Babar Azam, a former acting minister of Punjab, is not in favor of accepting his conditions with the captaincy.
They Should Be Given A Chance To Prove Their Worth:-
The source said, ‘Some members of the selection committee now feel that the best thing is to allow Shaheen Shah Afridi to remain captain for the home T20 series against New Zealand in April and give him a chance to prove his worth.
The source said that some selectors feel that the final decision on making Babar the captain again should be taken only after waiting for one or two series. Interestingly, the selectors have asked Naqvi to take the final decision.
Resigned From Captaincy in All Three Formats Of Cricket:-
The source said, ‘He made his opinion clear to the PCB chief and has now asked him to take the final decision. Naqvi has told them to convince Babar to accept the white ball captaincy now and the board will decide on the red ball captaincy only after the T20 World Cup.
Babar Azam was stripped of the captaincy after his disappointing performance in the ODI World Cup 2023 organized by India. Babar then resigned from captaincy in all three formats of cricket after returning home.
