ICC’s annual conference held in Birmingham:-

The BCCI has won the bid for this mega-tournament during the ICC Annual Conference held in Birmingham on Tuesday.

The country will host the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) ambitious tournament again after more than a decade.

The last time the women’s 50-over World Cup was held in India was in 2013. In this World Cup, the Australian defeated West Indies by 114 runs in the final in Mumbai to win the title.

The 2024 T20 World Cup will be held in Bangladesh:-

The hosts of three other ICC women’s tournaments were also announced today. The 2024 T20 World Cup will be held in Bangladesh. The 2026 T-Twenty World Cup will be held in England. Sri Lanka will host the 2027 T20 World Cup.

According to an ICC release, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said, “We were keen to host the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 and we are delighted that we have got to host it.”

England to host Women’s T20 World Cup 2026:-

England will host the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2026. The number of teams in this tournament will increase from 10 to 12 and a total of 33 matches will be played. This is the first time that the Women’s T20 World Cup will be played in England.

Expressing happiness over this, England Cricket Board CEO Claire Connor said that in 2017 England got the hosting of the Women’s World Cup and the England team became the champion. Lord’s was packed with spectators in the final match.
