According to a report, the host BCCI has shortlisted at least a dozen venues for this marquee event to be held between 10 teams.

In which the final (World Cup 2023 Schedule) has been decided to be played in the world’s largest cricket stadium, Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Three knockouts in a span of 46 days in the tournament:-

Apart from Ahmedabad, the shortlist includes Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot, and Mumbai. The entire tournament will consist of 48 matches including three knockouts over a period of 46 days.

The title clash aside, the BCCI is yet to specify the venues for any of the games.

The delay in finalizing the locations has been due to complications arising from the onset of monsoon at different points in different parts of India.

ICC World Cup schedule announced:-

Usually, the ICC announces the World Cup schedule at least a year in advance. But this time it is also waiting for the BCCI to get the necessary approval from the Indian government.

There are two major issues involved in this. obtaining tax exemption for the tournament. And visa clearance for the Pakistan team, which has not played in India since early 2013 except in ICC events.

It is learned that at the ICC’s quarterly meeting held in Dubai last weekend. The BCCI had assured the world body that the visas for the Pakistan team would be cleared by the Indian government.
