The BCCI Secretary Jay Shah confirmed on Thursday:-

Amid many updates, fans are eagerly waiting for ticket sales. BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Thursday confirmed that there will be no e-tickets for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 and fans will have to collect tickets from the venue itself.

He said, “We may not use e-tickets this time, but will ensure payment of physical tickets in advance at 7-8 centers.

But the physical ticket has to be retained. It will become difficult to manage e-tickets at high-capacity locations like Ahmedabad and Lucknow.

We plan to introduce more use of e-tickets in bilateral matches first and then take it to multi-country events like the World Cup.”

There was a huge commotion during the IPL when fans turned up to use their e-tickets for the final. Shah has assured us that there will be 7-8 centers for smooth distribution of tickets.
