RCB New Coach in WPL 2023: The RCB Changed Coach After Poor Performance in Women’s Premier League. Australia’s Luke Williams will join Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as head coach ahead of the second season of the Women’s Premier League.

Williams will Replace New Zealand’s Ben Sawyer:-

According to ‘ESPNcricinfo’, Williams will replace New Zealand’s Ben Sawyer after RCB’s poor performance in the first tournament. In the first tournament, the RCB team played under the leadership of Smriti Mandhana.

RCB finished fourth in the five-team competition despite the presence of star players like Australia’s Ellyse Perry, New Zealand’s Sophie Devine, and England’s Heather Knight. The RCB team was able to register only two wins in eight matches.

Williams has coached the Adelaide Strikers in the Women’s Big Bash League and under his guidance the team won the title in the 2022-23 season and were also runners-up twice before.

He was an assistant coach in The Hundred Women’s Competition and was associated with the title-winning team Southern Brave.

Earlier, the RCB men’s team opted to include former LSG head coach Andy Flower in their squad.

These changes have been made after Mike Hesson stepped down as director of cricket for both the men’s and women’s teams. Hesson played a key role in RCB’s performances in the IPL over the past few years.
