In fact, important players of the team like fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer and main foreign match winner Rishabh Pant are injured. Along with this, before the ODI World Cup, it will also be necessary to tell about workload management.

A BCCI source told PTI that apart from Rahul Dravid, batting coach Vikram Rathour, bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, fielding coach T Dileep and other support staff will meet NCA chief VVS Laxman and discuss several important issues.

Along with this, it is also expected that Rahul and Laxman will discuss with their respective teams the detail of plans regarding workload management and preparation for the final. During this, the head of sports science at NCA, Nitin Patel, may have to face tough questions regarding repeated injuries to the players. Iyer and Deepak Chahar have been repeatedly injured after being declared fit. Most of the IPL franchises have confirmed to PTI that they have not received any written communication from the BCCI regarding the workload management of fast bowlers.

NCA chief VVS Laxman looks after the players in rehab. Along with this, he also takes responsibility for the game of young players of 19 to 23 years.

Significantly, the Indian team will play the WTC final against Australia from June 7-11 at The Oval in London.
