Asia Cup 2023: Yuzvendra Chahal’s first tweet after being dropped from the Asia Cup squad. The Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2023 was announced on 21 August.

The Wrist spinner in the 17-member squad:-

Chief selector Ajit Agarkar and captain Rohit Sharma came together to announce the team. Kuldeep Yadav has been selected as the wrist spinner in the 17-member squad.

While Yuzvendra Chahal has not been given a place in the team. Chahal reacted to this through social media after the team selection. He has tweeted emojis on Twitter.

Yuzvendra Chahal has tweeted about the sun hiding behind the clouds and the rising sun. After which the fans also reacted to this and said that soon the sun will rise again for Chahal.

On the day of team selection, chief selector Ajit Agarkar clarified Chahal’s selection even during the press conference. He said that “Chahal is undoubtedly a great performer.

But we had to keep in mind the overall balance of the team. Having two wrist spinners in the team would have posed a different kind of challenge.

At the same time, Rohit said that “Chahal, Sundar, and Ravi Ashwin are part of the World Cup plan, the doors are not closed for them to join the team.

Axar gives us batting options as well and he has done well this year. That’s why we had to take this decision.”

Talking about the one-day matches played by Yuzvendra Chahal this year, he has not played even half the matches compared to last year.

Chahal has played only two ODIs this year so far. Whereas in the year 2022, he played a total of 14 ODIs, in which he took 21 wickets.

Yuzvendra Chahal is not a part of the Asia Cup squad. But this is not the first time this has happened to him recently. Chahal was also not included in the squad for the World Cup 2021.
